Sending Out Mail Art

I’ve just sent out my first lot of mail art this year.

This is a postcard I sent locally to my friends Emma and Martin as a little surprise.

These postcards were in response to the last Ihanna postcard swap I did for people who put their addresses on the postcards they sent to me, thanks Theresa, Libby and Gloria in USA and also to Melita in Germany.

This card is to Andrew in Cheltenham, England who I met on our road trip in November. He wanted to know what mail art was, so as it’s the first day of this years ‘International Correspondence Letter Writing Month’, I’ve sent my first days mail to him.

A good start to February I think! 🙂

Happy Mail Day

The postman arrived early this morning and bought very happy mail. A lovely letter from Nancy in Iowa USA and some washi tape I ordered from Sweet Supplies Store on Etsy (from Japan) . I love buying from there because she’s very efficient and packages so beautifully!

I can’t wait to use my washi tape 🙂

Christmas Mail

Even though I have the annual Christmas cold, I’ve been enjoying sending out my Christmas mail. I’ve had one of my paintings made into our Christmas card this year, sent with my art stamps attached. I’ve included some other bits and pieces to my regular mail pals 🙂

Lovely Letters

If you send all sorts of mail, you get all sorts of mail in return 🙂

Here are some of my recently received letters from the USA and Italy, lovely words from Elisa, Debbie and Deborah. If you begin to write to some one new, the chances are that you begin a friendship that lasts many years, getting to know them by who they are not what they look like, treasuring the things they tell you about themselves. Why don’t you try it? It doesn’t have to be a long letter, it’s the thought that counts!

I’m happy to have sent out these replies to a couple of letters I got recently, off to the US and to Italy. What a lovely way to make friends. You connect with your heart, not being limited with visual obstacles of what each other look like, but an opportunity of real friendship, which is so nice. 🙂
